Eric Shakir, Esq.
Mr.
Shakir is the founder of the Shakir Law Offices; he
successfully practices law in the areas of
Immigration, Family Law, Employment Discrimination,
Business, and Real Estate.
Prior
to practicing law, Mr. Shakir served in the U.S.
Navy, worked as a paralegal for the employment firm
of Terris, Pravlik & Millian, and worked in the
public sector for the Office of White House
Liaison.
His
commitment to public interest grew while being
employed as the General Counsel for CAIR, a
non-profit civil rights organization serving the
needs of immigrant communities. There, Mr. Shakir’s
skills enabled him to help various immigrant
communities to deal with the problems of every day
life in America.
Mr.
Shakir is licensed to practice law in the State and
Federal Courts of Maryland. He is a member of the
American Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar
Association, the Montgomery County Bar Association,
and the Bourne Bar Association.
Mr.
Shakir earned his law degree at the University of
Baltimore and attended the University of Maryland at
College Park where he was awarded a B.A. in
Government and Politics with a minor in
African-American Studies. Mr. Shakir was born and
raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
